Adrenergic agonists are a group of drugs that stimulate alpha and beta adrenergic receptors by mimicking the action of naturally occurring catecholamines such as norepinephrine, epinephrine and dopamine. This pharmacology lecture covers topics such as mechanism of action of adrenergic agonists; catecholamines, noncatecholamines, direct acting, indirect acting, mixed action; location and function of alpha and beta receptors.
