1953 Chevy Truck Door Latch Assembly- HOW TO FIX

Chevy did a lot of things right in 1953 but not everything! They missed one key thing. GETTING THE LATCH ASSEMBLE IN THE DEPRESSION THAT IT WAS MADE FOR. In this video I’m going to show you how we fixed this factory error super easy.


We used the Altman Easy Door Latch Kit for a 1953 Chevy five window truck which can be found online. We show you how to modify the door so the rod wont rub on your door panel. This is an easy fix that will save you a lot of time and headache when you move to the interior.
