Installing the NEW Route Planning Software for Ioniq5/EV6 and Testing it Out

Описание к видео Installing the NEW Route Planning Software for Ioniq5/EV6 and Testing it Out

In this video, I'll be showing how to install a navigation software update via USB on my 2022 Hyundai Ioniq5 (Kia EV6 is very similar).

The particular software update I am installing is a long-awaited one that supposedly adds route planner functionality to the Ioniq5 and EV6, including adding charging stops automatically. Many theorized that this was coming when the function was found buried in the previous software and accessible through engineering mode. Well, now it's here. Let's install it and try it out!

Over-the-air (or OTA) software updates for the radio/navigation system are possible for the Ioniq5 and EV6, although I've personally never gotten one. My understanding is that the software will update OTA if you wait and do not install it manually via USB. OTA updates are only available for the radio/navigation on the 2022 Ioniq5 and EV6, although supposedly later cars will allow OTA updates for all vehicle modules. I'm not sure which vehicles support this. The Ioniq6 may support this at launch, but I don't know for sure.

NOTE the software update also made some other little changes that were not notated. The only thing I've noticed so far is that the media screen background changes depending on the album art displayed. It makes it a little more colorful.
