Meditations on Japan | Fabric Collection in Collaboration with Craft Cotton Company | 2024

I am thrilled to finally introduce you to my debut fabric collection called 'Meditations on Japan.' This line has been 30 years in the making and is a dream brought to life in collaboration with Craft Cotton Company, now available for preorder.

Inspired by the tranquility, beauty and Zen philosophy of Japanese culture, this five-piece collection captures my artistic interpretation with intricate designs reflecting peaceful elements like bonsai trees, cranes and sashiko-inspired patterns. Each print aims to inspire calm and mindful reflection.

I am incredibly proud that my paintings, drawings and markings have been translated into fabrics celebrating a country I hope to visit one day. From serene landscapes to the delicate pink 'Blossom Branches' to the lively 'flying Cranes,' every piece captures a meditative facet of Japan.

It's difficult to choose a favourite because I poured my heart into this collection, but the meaningful symbolism of the cranes, visually striking bonsai and the soothing rhythm of the Sashiko details have a special place for me. I can’t wait to sew and showcase them in dresses, quilts and other projects revealing their intriguing beauty.
