So a short while back I uploaded the Fine Young Casuals, a punk group from Indiana (   • FINE YOUNG CASUALS - The Gates EP  ). They're cool, I guess. Anyways, Tyler, the vocalist from that group, sent me a tape as a way of saying thanks for uploading it. Buuuuut, in the package came this as well, the Zodiacs self-titled demo tape. This was Tyler's old band back in 2012 (and I think FYC shares members with Side FX too but don't quote me on this). I was familiar with the group prior to receiving the cassette, but I hadn't given them much of an extended listen... as I do with a lot of bands. I'm a lazy turd, I know. So, having this tape, I took it as an opportunity to give these guys another shot. And boy, are they GOOD. Zodiacs is a spit-spewing hardcore punk group that absolutely destroys with it's thick n' heavy riffs, thunderous drums and savage vocals. And got-damn, are the basslines in "He's Not There" are phenomenal. This is a damn fine release that I'm sure many of you are already aware of, but it's still new and endlessly fervorous to me. Pick it up if you haven't already.

I also included a download link to a tape rip I made. It's way shittier-sounding and mildly-muddled by poor recording techniques; it's perfect for this band. I've just grown fond of the tape's mixing and thought it'd be worthwhile to throw that up too, in case any of you are interested.
