Anne Harkness, Director of South Sector, Acute Services, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde talks about the NHS hospital perspective of a University of Glasgow study which showed the imminence of death of Scottish hospital inpatients. He puts the study in context, looks at the findings of the first and follow-up studies, and talks about the international direction which the research is now taking.
This lecture was at a seminar co-hosted by Marie Curie Scotland and the University of Glasgow 'End of life care in Scottish hospitals: opportunities for wider engagement', at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday 10 November 2015.
