Installing 2 Nest Hello Doorbells

Описание к видео Installing 2 Nest Hello Doorbells

I pre-ordered a pair of Nest Hello video doorbells. Since this is a new product, I wanted to share the installation process. This video is guaranteed to have low production qualities and a few assumptions that probably aren't true, but hopefully having an early look at the process will have value to folks that are interested.

As a new Nest owner I am cautiously evaluating the product line. If Google continues to update the firmware of their Nest products to strengthen the interaction between the hardware (including Google Assistant), then I feel like it can compete with Amazon/Alexa/Ring. But that is only if Google commits to their hardware and software and continues to improve their features.

Please share your experiences with the Hello doorbell, and the other Nest devices. Note that I am not an electrician, nor do I claim to be a Nest expert, nor do I claim that this wiring method is right for you.

UPDATE (7/8/2021)
I've moved to a new house and brought the two Hello's with me! The new house is from the 1800's, and the doorbell is a NuTone L42 from the late fifties. I installed the Hello's just like before (with one exception, see below) and they still work well.

An image on a Google help thread shows the "official" wiring for two Hellos on a chime box:

The difference between my original wiring guess and this new diagram is that instead of pigtailing the two Connectors' gray wires on the Trans screw, they daisy chain one Connector gray wire to the gray receiver of the other Connector. This may actually be the exact same circuit, but I'd recommend their solution and appears to work for me too. Still not an electrician or a Nest expert.
