An extremely wet 28km hike from O Cadavo to Lugo - better weather on the horizon | Hike the Camino

This was the extremely wet 28km hike from O Cadavo to Lugo in the rain, the 8th rainy day on the Primitivo, out of 9 days thus far.

There comes a time when your head says why am I doing this to myself, today was one of those days. A lot of road walking in the bucketing rain would make some people question my sanity. But why do you keep coming back to do this to yourself? The answer is easy, even if the journey is not. I come out a better, stronger, happier and more fulfilled human being. Very little compares to being out of your comfort zone for a days on end, especially looking back at what you gained as part of the experience. Once thing is sure, these are memories that will be hard to forget.

About the route, nothing that special, especially if you cannot see 10 meters in from of you for most of it. The stop at Vilar de Cas to dry my shoes by the fire was very welcome, I just stopped the Spanish Mama in time from actually putting my shoes on the grill! The entry into Lugo if special, and entering the city through it's ancient stone walls is very special. Just a pity I did not have more time to spend here. Maybe try and get here on a Friday or Saturday, not a Sunday.

The promise of better weather on the horizon in the morning was something to look forward to.
