Month of July was a huge success for Apache Stronghold on the journey to protect Oak Flat.the desecration of Oak Flat being looked at as an environmental crisis, it is being recognized for its sacred roots and a place of cultural significance. The idea of sacredness is difficult to relay to the non-indigenous audience because their ancestors came from another continent. The first non-indigenous people to walk this land brought much of the religion and spirituality across the seas. Churches built and bibles mass-produced made their religion and spirituality mobile, which is not the same case for indigenous people whose places of worship took place all over the landscape. Colonization has affected us all and the fight to protect Oak Flat has brought many blessings to the people. By reconnecting to the land, the life that exists is once again being appreciated.
