Hello all, Life is somewhat getting back to normal as I have been busy working on things with my new house and work has been well you know work.

I had heard from a friend that NS 8101, the central of Georgia Heritage unit was heading back east on a San Bernardino to Chicago intermodal train. Normally I won't go for them if they aren't leading, which in this case it was the third unit. But i was out for something else when it came into Amarillo so I sat up at the 8th St. Crossovers to capture the train as it left town following a crew change.

Even though Lighting wasn't the greatest, I was out on the morning of the 18th as a westbound Atlanta to Los Angeles Q train had a pair of H1 Dash 9's leading the way. I quickly set up at the Parsley Rd grade crossing, and due to the short setup time I had, my apologies in advance for the shaky panning. I intended to chase the train south of Amarillo where light would be marginally better, but a friend needing something from me made this my only catch.

An early morning message from a coworker told me that a new set of ES44ACH's were coming into Amarillo on an Arizona bound coal load. I made my way to the Reclamation Plant Rd crossing on the Boise City Sub to capture the train as it made its way into Amarillo.

Following a crew change, the train is seen again approaching the Georgia St. crossing near the control point at Haney.

After many attempts to be able to get a southbound train at this location on a mainly northbound line, my efforts were rewarded on a cloudy Friday afternoon when the southbound empty feed train from Cargill Sweetbran in Dalhart made its way towards Amarillo that was being led by H1 Dash 9 1050. They had made a meet with a northbound empty coal train at Gentry, which is one mile to our west, and with this being ABS/TWC governed territory, they are proceeding to the next signal at restricted speed.

I had been out at the airport catching a departing 747. When I headed home I crossed over the tracks and saw an approaching westbound. I set up and captured the westbound ZALTSTO2 as it made its way into Amarillo passing a loaded coal train at CP 3294. The Z would stop to change crews at CP 3311 as they only had about 30 minutes left to work in their 12 hours.

I finally did a short outing instead of just going out for specific trains. I started my day around sunrise at CP Washington on the Hereford Sub. My first train of the day was the HAMSLUB which is seen running Main 2 out of Amarillo.

22:38

I moved under the overpass to capture an eastbound stack train topping the hill between Washington and Zita. This has always been an angle I have wanted to get but havent until now.

25:46

Went down to the former Santa Fe Depot and captured the train for a second time as it left Amarillo for Wellington, KS. They would end up stopping for a few minutes at East Tower.

28:23

While the previous train was leaving town, I heard DS 101 talking to the 3312 South on the Boise City Sub saying he was ready for them at Junior. Made my way back south of Amarillo to the Sundown Ln Railroad crossing.
to see if I could get another shot of them. Due to traffic ahead of them, thy would end up stopping just east of the crossing. This eastbound Clovis to Memphis Q would come by in the meantime.

32:06

After getting pics of the coal train's DP's I made my way south towards Rockwell Rd to capture them again. As i crossed the tracks at Georgia St, I pulled over when I saw an approaching eastbound. An eastbound Z train is seen splitting the signals at CP Haney.

34:23

After arriving at Rockwell Rd I got set up to catch the westbound coal train, but would end up catching an eastbound empty grain train instead. As the headend of the coal train passed I ran the video long to capture the DPs on the coal train.

39:05

After holding at Lubbock Jct for the train ahead of them to get relieved, an eastbound Z train rolls past the Canyon ATSF depot on its way into Amarillo for a crew change.

Thanks for watching.
