Tearing Down the £40 eBay Engine - Triumph TR7 Restoration Part 10

Описание к видео Tearing Down the £40 eBay Engine - Triumph TR7 Restoration Part 10

After failing to get my cheap engine running in the last video, I decided to tear it down and see what the problem was. After all, how long does it take to just take the head off the engine?

It turns out, it can take a long time. A very long time. Like, a couple of months of toil. It's fair to say this engine teardown didn't go too easy.

The main issue was the head studs - two out of the five were solidly seized in the head (and it turns out, the block as well) and it took weeks of careful work - followed by a few hours of something more... destructive - to get the head off. Once I had that off, actually stripping down the engine was fairly straightforward.

Aside from the damage suffered with the stripdown, this actually looks like being a fairly decent engine with very little wear on it. Subject to how things go at the machine shop, I think this can be saved.
