The Southern Ant-Pipit is a peculiar bird of the Tyrannidae family that usually forages on the Neotropical forest understory. In this video, which is from the southern-most portion of its distribution range, it can be observed moving through the forest floor. It prefers low angle foothill forest, an ambient that is being heavily affected by the expansion of agricultural activities, threatening this particular Ant-Pipit population. This video is probably the first ever of an Argentinian Southern Ant-Pipit from its Andean range!

El mosquitero es una peculiar ave terrestre de la familia tiranidae que frecuenta sotobosques en las Selvas Neotropicales. En este video, en la porcion mas austral de su distribución, se lo puede observar desplazandose por el suelo del bosque. Frecuenta zonas de pedemonte preferentemente de baja pendiente, los cuales estan siendo desforestados para la agricultura, poniendo en riesgo a esta poblacion. Este, probablemente sea el primer video de la especie en las Yungas Argentinas!
