📌 Located in Hveragerði, a small town in southwest Iceland, about 40 minutes drive from Reykjavík.

🗺️ It's built in a geothermal active zone that sits along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
🌍 Why is it special?

The Mid-Atlantic Ridge runs straight through Iceland, splitting the country between two tectonic plates.

Sunnumörk Shopping Center (and parts of Hveragerði) lie directly on top of this rift zone.

So when you're walking or shopping inside or around the center, you're literally straddling two continents — North America and Europe.

There’s even a small exhibition nearby that explains this geological phenomenon, and cracks in the earth visible in some spots.
