A Lam Shin vs Britta Heideman - Olympics Corruption 2012

The following video depicts either Corruption or Incompetence at the Olympics 2012. The video clearly shows that when the match resumed, the official time clock is stuck on 1sec even though 1sec of time has elapsed. This allowed Heideman to score the winning strike and eliminate Shin in the Semi-Final. The malfunction cost Shin her rightful spot in the gold medal match. Even though South Korea immediately appealed the decision, the officials turned a blind eye and robbed Shin of the victory.

The Fencing's world governing body (FIE) offered South Korean Shin A-lam a special award following her controversial elimination from her Olympic epee semi-final. In my opinion, this 'special award' does not make up for the events that transpired. It does not make up for the 4 hard long years of work of and dedication that Shin had to go through only to be robbed on the international stage. And it certainly should not make up for this act of corruption.
