Defence Strategy and Capability Senior Analyst Malcolm Davis says Iran is in a “dilemma” as it holds fire.

“If it does not intervene in this conflict, if it doesn’t support Hezbollah and Hamas, it loses credibility in the eyes of its proxies,” Mr Davis told Sky News Australia.

“They’re basically asking Tehran, where are you, we’re being slaughtered here and you’re doing nothing.

“Iran is losing credibility by the hour the longer it waits.”
