As we head into another year which is 2018, the Holy Spirit has convicted me to address a very common but urgent theme that many Christians struggle with. This theme is the feeling of separation from God, and is actually more widespread than many are aware.

When we go through the events of life, we can often feel burdened and separated from God by the obstacles of this world. Often, our own sin too will create division with the Lord, and often (in ignorance); we will continue to blame and condemn ourselves with guilt. While true conviction does come from the Holy Spirit to refrain from the sin that continually ensnares us, guilt and self-condemnation is not from above, and the ensuing separation experienced is often our own doubts about the Lord’s love and compassion for us, which can lead us astray even further.

As this video highlights, God has promised never to abandon us or forsake us, and that He is always with us (Deuteronomy 31:6.) God does not do or say things in half measure for He is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and contrary to what a lot of individuals are teaching; even though the Lord may use the ‘feeling of separation’ to drive us closer to Him, He is in fact with us always, and never leaves us alone. The plans of the Lord for each of us are also for our benefit, for God is pure, righteous and holy, and His desires for us to be content and give Him glory are good and true (Jeremiah 29:11.) I pray that this New Year message will bring many of you blessings and hope for the year ahead. God bless.
