Описание к видео PRECISION SURVEYING | DRIVE LiDAR | Central Research Facility

Precise, accurate and fast.
Though traditional surveying solutions are accurate, they are highly time consuming, consequently paving a path for advanced surveying solutions which is highly accurate and also consumes negligible time when compared to the extent of data collection. Drive LiDAR is one such instrument which provides accurate and detailed information of the scanned area.

The system can acquire highly precise 3D measurements of road surface, tunnels, buildings, vegetation etcetera that surround the road while the vehicle is travelling, the compact lightweight drive lidar system takes less than 5 minutes to setup and mount on a vehicle, and is also incorporated with high accuracy GNSS and IMU for precise positioning.

The LiDAR core is fixed to the car pod with the help of brackets and a GNSS antenna is attached. The drive pod can be attached to the vehicle using suction cups.

Differential GPS is used to establish the ground control point for the entire session. The system can be placed at any suitable location near the area to be surveyed

The LiDAR sensor has a 360-degree field of view which can capture its surrounding area while the vehicle is moving. The scanning of the data can be observed wirelessly in real time using Live station software.
Direct georeferencing software as well as point cloud registration are used to post-process the scanned data, The output of the survey is highly precise 3D GIS map data. The processed point cloud can be exported to LAS LASer format for general applications.
The data is used for creation of DEM, road inventory creation, topographical surveying, map creation etc. The utilization of these data is very vast and spread across various departments making it the need of the hour.
NITK being one of the pace-setters in taking forward the technological advancements in the country, now owns this state of art instrument funded by the Central Research facility and is being used by Centre for System Design to execute various projects spread across diverse domains to meet the requirements of their respective projects.
