This video shows the TK85 microcomputer (a Brazilian clone of the Sinclair ZX81) playing some 1-Bit tunes that were originally created for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Unlike the ZX Spectrum, the ZX81 does not have a speaker and to generate sound the trick is to use the VSYNC signal that goes to the TV but is also connected to the TAPE OUT (MIC).
