Carrboro is a former mill town in Southern Orange County often associated with its neighbor, Chapel Hill. But as David Huppert discovers, over the past 100 years the Paris of the Piedmont has grown into its own unique community.

Many of the images in this piece came from the new book "Carrboro, Images of America," by Richard Ellington and David Otto.
