Shizen is a Japanese aesthetic term similar to wabi-sabi or yugen, in that it can be a philosophy, a design concept, and even a lifestyle.
The dictionary definition of shizen is “nature, ” “natural,” and also “spontaneous.” The real meaning of shizen has come to be a part of Japanese culture, Shinto, and Zen Buddhist thought which recognizes it as “human nature,” including both people and wilderness together...
