The cause of Nikola Tesla's death was actually a common illness. However, Tesla's condition leading up to his death is what makes his departure tragic. The financial support from investors like JP Morgan, which had run out, left Tesla bankrupt and heavily in debt. Consequently, Tesla chose to live his life in solitude. Six years later, on January 7, 1943, Tesla was declared deceased due to coronary thrombosis caused by blood clotting. He was found dead alone in his hotel room at the New York Hotel two days after his passing, when a maid pushed his door, which bore the sign 'Do Not Disturb.'
