Following Stalin's expansion into Europe after WW2, tensions began to rise between the superpowers. The US President Truman, gave a speech in which he outlined his 'doctrine' of preventing the spread of communism. Then the Marshall Plan was set up to support the doctrine. Stalin responded by setting up similar organisations.

This video covers the Edexcel GCSE History syllabus for Superpower Relations and the Cold War 1941-91. It will be useful no matter which exam board you are studying though.
