Triumph TR4 Overdrive FINAL Install - CHEAP Tips and Tricks | WEGS GARAGE

It is finally time to get the overdrive reassembled and reattached to our Triumph TR4 transmission. Remember like 4 months ago when we first tore this nasty thing apart? Neither do we! But we are determined to get it reinstalled!

We start by putting the adapter plate for the Laycock de Normanville A-Type overdrive on the back of the gearbox, complete with safety wire! Then it is time for the daunting task of bringing the two halves together and putting the whole thing on the mainshaft. We have a couple super cheap budget DIY solutions to common issues encountered when reassembling this unit. No dummy shaft required!

Note this is a 3-synchro transmission out of a Triumph TR3. The process is very similar for 4-synchro boxes used in TR4, TR4a, TR250, and TR6.
