Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof - Whisky Wednesday

You know when you find out you're wrong but it's okay because the whisky is still great? Had that with Rittenhouse.

Been telling people for years that it's 65%+ rye mashbill. Turns out it's just 51%. More Kentucky than it's Pennsylvania roots would assume. Anyway! At four years old, 50% ABV and £40 per bottle...seriously folks, if your whisky preferences lean stateside, all you really need is a bottle of this, Wild Turkey 101 and Makers 46. Bold statement but I'm sticking by it.

Rye is a devisive style, can be too dry for some, but this is full of quite exotic fruits and warm honey notes. So don't be too put off by the word 'rye'. Embrace it for it's full flavoured style and rather affordable price point.
