STORYLINE:
A shootout between Lebanese soldiers and a group of gunmen in the northern port city of Tripoli
has left one of the gunmen dead and two wounded, according to a security official.
The official said the shooting happened early on Friday in the mostly Sunni Bab el-Tabaneh neighbourhood.
A woman who was passing-by was among the wounded.
The official who asked to remain unnamed said the soldiers were pursuing the gunmen in a car when they gunmen opened fire and the troops shot back.
Soldiers later fanned out in the area and arrested 10 people.
It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting was related to militants active in Tripoli.
Two bus bombings recently killed 23 people there.
