ওয়াহিদ কাদের - অসম্ভব সুদর্শন, ছয় ফুট লম্বা, সুপুরুষ ২২ বছরের এক আফগান যুবক! বাংলাদেশে এসেছিলেন আফগান রাষ্ট্রদূত বাবা আর মায়ের সাথে। জন্ম যথাসম্ভব ১৯৫৪ সালে, আফগানিস্তানের কাবুলে। রাষ্ট্রদূত বাবার কল্যানে ছোটবেলা থেকেই পরিবারের সাথে এশিয়া ও ইউরোপের বিভিন্ন দেশে ঘুরে বেরিয়েছেন। ইংরেজী, ফারসী, ফ্রেঞ্চ, জার্মান ও হিন্দি ভাষার পাশাপাশি চমৎকার বাংলাও বলতেন তিনি! তাঁর বাবা যখন বাংলাদেশে আসেন, তখন তিনি এক হ্যান্ডসাম যুবক!
বন্দিনী’ ছবিটি ১৯৭৬ সাথে মুক্তি পায় এবং ভীষণ ভাবে ব্যবসা সফল হয়! ছবির অপর মুখ্য ভূমিকায় অভিনয়কারী চিত্রনায়িকা ববিতা !
