This is kind of an AU. Ok, this is an AU.
Emma, Princess of Misthaven was born with magic, but she was told that magic always comes with a price, and therefore she has to use it conscientiously. During the years, she learns to use magic and fall in love with Lieutenant Jones, who swore to protect her from the dark side of her magic.
During her 18th ball, while she's dancing with Killian, there is a fight, and she's tempted to use magic to kill the assassin of one of her guards but Killian stops her. The Dark One - who wants Emma's magic to go to the Land Without Magic to find his son - shows up at the castle and tells her that when she'll become completely dark, he'll take away her magic.
Killian, who doesn't want his love to succumb to dark magic, leaves her to go in search of a magic bean to get her away to the Land Without Magic. He gives her a ring, promising her he will return and he will take her somewhere safe.
While Killian is away and she isolates herself so she won't be tempted by darkness, they start having dreams where they find each other. They already had those dreams, but neither of them spoke about it aloud, because they believed they were just dreams. But when the dreams prove themself to be real, they ask each other why they've been meeting in dreams.
Emma knows, she knows about some particular aspect of True Love, but didn't think that she and Killian was True Love. Until then. She tells him, but she's scared, and he vows to return safely back to her.
Killian find a magic bean, but when he makes port, he gets caught in a fight with Blackbeard, who wounds him to death. Emma, who was looking for him, finds him close to death and puff themself in the middlemist meadow where they often went to pass time alone together.
In order to save him, she succumbs to the darkness. But while Killian was in search of the magic bean, she was searching for a weapon who could kill the Dark One and the darkness for good. She found the olympian crystal, given to her by Zeus.
So, when Rumplestiltskin comes for her, she stabs him with the crystal, killing him and getting rid of the darkness forever.
When she finnaly is free by the dark side of her magic, never to be tempted again, she and Killian can live they happily ever after.

Yeah, that's a lot twisted, but when I heard the lyrics I simply knew it had to be developed this way.
I hope you liked it, I actually did enjoy vid them with this song, it suits them.
The whiter (?) part is actually their dream, I put it first because of the lyrics, but like I said they dreamed of each other well before that moment.
