CRYSIS in 4K After 10 Years Anniversary

Exactly 10 years ago Crysis was released by Crytek and Electronic Arts! Let's see how well it still looks today in 4K resolution!

First we can all agree that Crysis was totally ahead of it's time from a graphics and technological stand of view. Years ahead of other games. SSAO (Screen space ambient occlusion) for example was first used in Crysis. And it looked quite good. Duh. Everything looked fantastic in Crysis. The game was mod friendly too.

Special effects and particles (many of them rendered at 60FPS), high res textures, volumetric smoke, dynamic lighting and weather, soft shadows, parallax occlusion mapping, top quality animations, amazingly detailed character models, own built next-gen physics engine that allowed for simulation of smoke, fluids, fire, destructible enviroment such as houses,trees, vehicles & lots of various props. The list can go on and on.

Sure most of these are not that special anymore, but in 2007 they were groundbreaking. It really made Crysis the best looking game ever. To be honest, it also made Crysis quite a resource hog. Everything has it's price. But can it run Crysis? :D

Anyway! If you wanted to run Crysis in 2007 at a good resolution and everything maxed out, then you needed at least 1 8800GTX and frankly an Intel CPU. And im talking about the legendary Core 2 Duo series. Which were marketed in Crysis. So when you say Crysis you say 8800GTX and Core 2 Duo. Because this was the
only GPU capable of running Crysis smoothly, while being helped by a solid and powerful CPU made by Intel.

So IMO even after 10 years, Crysis manages to look great! Definately a great game to enjoy and simply have fun around. It's open world levels allows for almost unlimited replays. You can go stealth or guns blazing. And each time choosing a different path, weapon, your own fists, vehicle or a BANANA to make your way through the KPA forces.
