Drum Tuning: Tips for Tuning a 13" Tom

Here you will find some information on troubleshooting and tuning a 13" tom. Many drummers have trouble tuning this size of a drum, but it shouldn't be any different than any other size drum. Check out the tips as well as the sound samples at the end of the video. I left the snare rattling sounds in the recordings of the drum when mic’ed up just to show you that it’s not really an issue when you record a song. That little bit of rattle and some overtones get swallowed up in the mix and you never hear it. 🙂
