The Special Actions Detachment trains interested cadets in modern military tactics and the Art of War at a level beyond that currently covered under the normal scope of the ROTC activities, furthering VMIs commitment to military excellence and the development of the Citizen-Soldier. S.A.D. consists generally of commission-seeking cadets and utilizes many military experts from around post and the VMI Community.
