Studying Meteorology at KIT

Public and private providers of weather forecasts, energy companies, insurance companies, environmental agencies, engineering offices and, of course, research – the fields of activity for meteorologists are diverse, the job prospects good. The prerequisites for this are provided by studies at the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The IMK offers the most versatile teaching and research program in atmospheric sciences in Germany. Already during their studies, students can get a taste of large-scale research, for example in the world's largest cloud chamber AIDA. Practical experience is not neglected either: At KIT, exciting internships such as measurements with gliders complete the curriculum.
