Wilson Blade 98 V9: what's the deal?

Описание к видео Wilson Blade 98 V9: what's the deal?

Racquet strung with Head Lynx at 21/20kg.

Wilson has made stability improvement the focus of the latest update to the Blade, currently the world's best-selling frame.

According to them, this improvement comes from the introduction of StableFeel into the frame. This new technology enhances both the flex and torsion stability of the racquet, for a more solid and reliable response at the moment of contact. Wilson set out to achieve a more precise and 'sharper' Blade, but to my way of thinking it became drier and firmer, not more accurate.

Generally, a racquet is made more stable by increasing its stiffness or manipulating its weight. For the Blade, Wilson did neither. The racquet maintains low stiffness and the weight has not changed, so what did they do? We don't know for sure, but I can tell you that the racquet is stiffer than before (though it remains comfortable).
