Philippine Medley no. 2 (Practice Cover)

A little bit of trivia…

It was somewhere between 1974 and 1975 that the PHILIPPINE MEDLEY #2, a composition and arrangement by PROFESSOR ALFREDO S. BUENAVENTURA for PARAÑAQUE DISTRICT III RONDALLA was performed and played as the group contest piece in a rondalla competition. The members of the group mostly consist of elementary students from BACLARAN PARAÑAQUE, RIZAL. Their interpretation of this music led the group coming from Baclaran, Parañaque to win the Philippine Rondalla Contest on Tito Pepe Pimentel’s TV program "Magandang Tanghali" and in 1976, the National Rondalla Competition in Pandacan, Manila.

Upon seeing the different interpretations of Philippine Medley #2 by different musical groups on youtube, this gave us inspiration to perform this musical piece.

Here after 47 years, we, as RONDALISTANG PARAÑAQUE (consist of the original members of the Paranaque III District Señor Rondalla ) will perform again our own interpretation/version of PHILIPPINE MEDLEY #2 , composed and arranged by DR. ALFREDO S. BUENAVENTURA.
