Here's an issue while traveling even though wheelchairs do get to board first.

Flying Southwest Airlines and since there are not assigned seats people abuse the system and pretend to be disabled or have issues. This lady walked on and made it a point she needed a seat before me and had to have the front row due to her needing to stretch her leg. During a 4 hour flight she might have had her leg straight for 30 seconds. Luckily for her I'm patient and don't like causing a scene or making others wait like she did because she thought she was above the carry on rule as well. I could've pressed the issue and she would've had to move but I proceeded to lift 4 ft since she had to have the front row that was easily accessible without an isle chair. (The other front row with leg room wasn't good enough for her) Yet, she was the first off the plane with no assistance whatsoever.

On the way back, not on video, there were 4 to 5 others in airport provided wheelchairs to get on but yet practically ran off the plane.
If you want and actually need help by all means get on first but also stay seated and get off last like the rest of us who are actually not abusing the system.

Southwest should be aware of the issue and although you can't judge people like this lady and discriminate against them, you could make the policy that they need to also wait to get off the plane as well. See if they are in a rush to get on first then.

Excellent crew though and we all got a laugh at how ignorant some people are. Even in my situation I'll put others first if they need something more easily accessible than myself. Such as in a situation with a quadriplegic and myself, it would be easier for me to get in the isle chair than them. It's called common courtesy but some forget that.
