Shaolin Temple is a 1976 Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Chang Cheh and starring Alexander Fu Sheng, Chi Kuan-chun, and Johnny Wang. The film follows the story of a group of Ming dynasty rebels who seek refuge in the Shaolin Temple after being pursued by Qing dynasty officials. While at the temple, the rebels learn kung fu and eventually use their skills to fight back against their oppressors.

The film is considered a classic of the Hong Kong martial arts genre and is credited with popularizing the Shaolin Temple and its kung fu techniques. It also helped to launch the careers of several prominent martial arts actors, including Alexander Fu Sheng and Chi Kuan-chun.

Shaolin Temple was followed by several sequels and spin-offs, including Shaolin Temple 2: Kids from Shaolin and Shaolin Temple 3: Martial Arts of Shaolin.
