In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of one of the most unique hotel photography assignments I’ve ever done—shooting essentially street photography for Hotel Indigo Katong in Singapore before it even opened. That’s right—no rooms, no lobby, no models. Just me and the vibrant neighborhood of Katong shooting street photography, travel, and portraits.

This wasn’t your typical hotel photography gig. I was hired to capture editorial-style images and video vignettes that told the story of the local culture, heritage, and people—images that would live not just on the hotel’s website, but also as large-scale prints throughout the property.

I’ll walk you through how I approach storytelling with stills and video, how I use natural light to keep things authentic, and how I balance client needs with creative freedom.
