Hello, friends! We're back, and this time, on OVERWATCH 2! It's been awhile since we've had the chance to play a version of Heat Street because the Workshop Editor has been temporarily disabled since the game's launch and many of the workshop modes have been super scuffed porting over the codes from the original Overwatch game.

That being said, I noticed Lemonaid has been working on a BETA version of Shingen's game mode, "Heat Street" and I've been itching to play it again as well as curious how it would play with all the current changes in Overwatch 2. So, let's dive in with a brief summary...while not spoiling too much:

This run was on Lemonaid's BETA release v.3.4.2.2

First off, let's refer to Lemonaid's patch notes:
"Crashing is a known issue! It is currently unknown what exactly causes crashing as it is very inconsistent! If this happens, try to start a normal game, then import the code and restart!"
Holy moly, this crashes ... ALOT! You're pretty much 100% guaranteed you're going to have to follow these instructions in order to even load a game at all! So, if you're interested in trying any version of this BETA, follow them! If you make it to the end of this run, you'll notice the game attempt to load the map again and IMMEDIATELY crash on the load-in screen. The video just abruptly ends! I decided to leave that in this edit to highlight this crashing bug! XD!

Now, on to my brief review:
The HUD is insanely massive with all the huge text on the screen. It was nice to have an option to minimize a portion of it, but I left it alone on this 1st run of the BETA. For future runs, I'll definitely utilize that function if the text continues to clutter the screen.
From Lemonaid's patch notes:
"New Mutator: Yakuza (Replaces Chaff)
Enemy Kirikos, Genjis and Hanzos spawn more often with more health."
I can't tell you how happy that made me seeing that change. I was NOT a fan of "Chaff", let's just say that. Way too many solo runs were ruined because of that mutator. Good riddance! lol!

I decided to build Genji this run for optimum self-sustain so I stacked the Antigens, picked up the Talent, "Venomous Strike" on Wave 2, and got "Vampiric" as soon as it was available in the RNG portion of the shop (Wave 4). The max amount of damage I stacked was an additional +30% by game's end. Things were not dying very quickly, but I was staying up pretty well during the more chaotic fights due to that resilient build. Next run, I'll definitely go for more damage.

I enjoyed playing Heat Street again! Lemonaid is obviously working out some bugs still. One thing I noticed in particular is that the Cloakers don't ult anymore. That's more than likely a bug, but this is a good BETA right out of the gate! Looking forward to how much this game mode will evolve even more now that Overwatch 2 is out and is constantly getting worked on! What a nice feeling! About time, right?! Now, the devs just need to release the Workshop Editor!
