Warmest oceans in 400 years an ‘existential threat’ to Great Barrier Reef

Earlier this year Australia’s Great Barrier Reef was cooked in some of the hottest waters in 400 years.

The findings for the UNESCO world heritage site has shocked researchers, who have warned human-made climate change is responsible for back-to-back coral bleaching.

They fear reefs worldwide could be jeopardised without action.
