This is an interview of an Electrical Engineering student, Prajya Sharma, who was placed in PwC. In this video, she talks about the different phases involved in getting selected for the campus placement. She shares some interview tips and interview questions, as well as group discussion tips which can be very helpful for aspirants.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (trading as PwC) is a multinational professional services network headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It is the largest professional services firm in the world, and is one of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. Vault Accounting 50 has ranked PwC as the most prestigious accounting firm in the world for seven consecutive years, as well as the top firm to work for in North America for three consecutive years.

Prajya was placed in their advisory section, commonly known as consulting. Risk advisory mostly deals with cyber security, risk management, and training their employees for the same.

Campus Placement Procedure

The campus placement procedure consists of mainly three phases : 1) Written Aptitude 2) Group Discussion 3) Personal Interview

Written aptitude – It is a very challenging round.

Group Discussion and Group Discussion Tips – The topic was given from current affairs.

Group Discussion Tips - Some advice for the same would be to not take extreme sides and have a balanced approach, and also support your statements with elaborate examples. Do not speak out of turn and be respectful towards other members, for example – “Yes, I agree with my group member.”
Be confident in what you say and don’t fumble. Don’t hesitate to switch languages.

Personal Interview – The panel for the interview consisted of a senior manager from the risk advisory section, and the HR. She was not asked any core IT questions since she did not have an IT background.
The next important factor is the resume. Very specific interview questions were asked from the resume to ensure that the candidate can speak on what s/he has done. Initially, the panel attempts to make the candidate comfortable. Questions about the candidates hobbies, interests, etc. are asked. If they find the candidate suitable for the profile, specific questions like whether they would be able to devote time, etc. are asked. It is very important to make the panel believe that you are interested in the company.

Some advice for the interview – Employers like to see that the candidate has a balanced college life, i.e., they are involved in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Focus should be on both, and not just one element alone. Taking up leadership roles is also very helpful.

INTERVIEW TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT

1) Keep your aggregate above 70% as most companies have that as their cut-off.
2) Have a good CV and be thorough about the company and the profile you’re applying for.
3) Practice group discussions, public-speaking, case studies, and puzzles, as much as possible.
4) Be competent enough when it comes to aptitude.
