Moose is Driving a Test Route in Colwick - by a professional ADI with commentary.

Fully commentary on a Learner Driver Test Route, giving description of what the driver should be looking at and thinking of.

Can you see when Moose checks his mirrors and around him? The examiner should be able to see you check mirrors and around too.

Would you have checked all those places and kept active at traffic lights?

Is Moose more prepared for junctions and meeting situations than you? Plan early, look early.

How many meeting situations were timed by Moose to meet the gap behind the oncoming car rather than the car itself?

13:10 Were you having the same thoughts and observations as to when to go, and then with the parked vans on the new road?

Did Moose's speed vary when it was clear to when there was more danger?

14:36 Would you have gone at the mini roundabout and past the bus? The position exiting the roundabout enabled a clear view ahead, momentum off of the roundabout and knowing the bus had just stopped all came together to enable the safe pass.

17:35 By looking left and right before the giveaway line, Moose could see the parked van on the right and could see down that new road. If the observations were later, he may have gone all the way to the giveaway line and not been able to see.

21:31 Always more detail in real life than a video, but would you have looked at the road ahead for anyone crossing our path at the roundabout when Moose did? And slowed for the oncoming lorry? Did you see all the mirror checks too? It produced a smooth, safe and flowing drive. 26:50 is another example of planning far ahead.

23:28 Early looking in the new road Moose sees the bin lorry and produces a plan to keep safe and keep other road users safe.

24:22 Always ready to change a decision, and indicate if you do.

26:00 Always planning the next step, DON'T go in to the junction unless you can get all of your car in.

28:44 "Stop at a Zebra unless you can prove it's clear" is how Moose teaches it. Moose could see so slowed ready to stop. Good job too.

If you have done your manoeuvre whilst out on the drive, the examiner will ask you to "Drive forward towards the bays, don't worry about being between the lines, as long as it's safe".

Was there a blindspot check on all "drive on's"?

Did Moose check right before moving right and left before moving left on each passing of parked cars and sideways movement?

The speed shown in the car, and on the Dashcam footage is different and is in every car. 30mph in the car is 27mph on the Dashcam.
