How to setup virtualhost in Windows 10, using xampp and Joomla CMS
1. Go to XAMPP directory and htdocs directory
2. Create a new virtualhost directory example virtualhost
3. Copy and extract joomla zip file package inside this virtualhost folder
4. Create the following virtualhost settings below
5. C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-xampp.conf

VirtualHost *:80 - Note! I removed the start bracket in this line because it is not allowed in the youtube description.
DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/virtualhost"
ServerAdmin [email protected]
ServerName virtualhost.site.com
ServerAlias www.virtualhost.site.com
ErrorLog "logs/virtualhost.site.com-error.log"
CustomLog "logs/virtualhost.site.com-access.log" common
VirtualHost - Note! I removed the end line bracket in this line because it is not allowed in the youtube description

6. Configure hosts.txt file below
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.txt
152.32.104.115 virtualhost.site.com
152.32.104.115 www.virtualhost.site.com
192.168.1.7 virtualhost.site.com
192.168.1.7 www.virtualhost.site.com
7. Create a database detail in this address at
http://www.virtualhost.site.com
Host: locahost
Database Name: virtualhost
Database Pass: virtualhost
8. Got to Joomla InstallationTab
Site title: Virtual host
Site Description: Welcome to Virtual Host
Site Email: [email protected]

Site Username: virtualhost
Site Password: virtualhost, confirm and click next
9. Go to Database Installation Tab
Hostname: localhost
Database name: virtualhost
Database username: virtualhost
10. Click next and remove the installation folder by clicking a remove
button
11. One done click Administrator or Site button.
12. If you can see your virtualhost.site.com or
www.virtualhost.site.com meaning your virtual host is now fully setup
13. Share your hosts file virtualhost details to your clients or Team and
tell them to add your hosts.txt file details into their hosts.txt file located here
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.txt for them to see your
virtualhost website project for presentation or demonstration.
