1. Sketch the Letter
Start with the basic form of your letter, but to make the "I" more interesting, you can add small twists like turning it into a heart or arrow shape. Play around with negative space or break up the letter’s structure for visual intrigue. “Add-ons” can be extra flourishes like swirls, dots, or geometric shapes around the letter to amplify its visual impact.

2. Background
To keep the background from feeling flat, you can go all out with some action! A lightning bolt design behind the letter can create a sense of movement, while a paint splatter effect can add a dynamic, messy aesthetic. Consider using complementary colors to make the background pop without taking attention away from the letter.

3. Fill in the Letter
Once you’re happy with the shape and structure, start filling the letter with color.


4. Drop Shadow and Outline
Add a drop shadow to your letter to give it more dimension. Play with the shadow direction. Add a contrasting outline to make the letter stand out even more.

5. Extra Details in the Fill
This is where you can get really creative. You could add subtle patterns or textures within the fill of the letter—things like stripes, dots, or even gradients that give it an extra layer of visual depth. Details like thin lines or little symbols inside the fill can add character—think about incorporating small objects or patterns that fit the vibe of your overall design.

6. Highlights
Highlights bring your letter to life! Adding light reflections or highlights on the curves or edges of the letter can make it look three-dimensional. Play with the placement of highlights depending on the light source you want to create—top-left or top-right, usually, works well. You can use white or a lighter version of your main fill color for the highlights. The trick is to make sure they enhance the letter's structure, so it doesn't feel too overdone.
