Blue Light Response: Investigation of the Physiological Response to Blue Light

Описание к видео Blue Light Response: Investigation of the Physiological Response to Blue Light

Surrey has made significant progress developing light sources and in studying the influence of light on physiology. This project centres on a recently discovered photoreceptor in the eye sensitive to blue light. This photoreceptor drives several non-visual responses of the brain to ambient lighting, influencing alertness and health. This FEPS/FHMS collaboration will focus on developing semiconductor light sources at target wavelengths as defined from a human study, to embed in lighting. The practical application and impact of such work is expected to be of significant benefit to human behaviour and alertness in the built environment.
