In this video, I’ve picked out nine of the most popular beaters and put them through their paces so you can hear how they compare. They all feel a little different, and I’ve done my best to explain those differences throughout the reviews!

I’m demoing these kick drum beaters using my Tama Speed Cobra pedal, and I'm playing a 22"x16" Tama Star Walnut bass drum. It’s fitted with a Remo Powerstroke 3 batter head, and I’ve got a single pillow inside for a bit of muffling to keep the sound punchy.
