Michael Morgan and Peter Barnes were both members of the group, Michael & The Messengers, who released a cover of the Reflections’ “Just Like Romeo And Juliet” on USA Records in 1967.

After parting from Pete Anders, Vini Poncia continued his successful run as a songwriter and producer into the 70s. By the time the Movies’ 45, "Dancin' On Ice" was issued, Vinnie had had hits with Melissa Manchester and Ringo Starr.

Vini is a native of Rhode Island, as was the Movies’ drummer, Ted Medbury. Ted was a member of the Ascots, formed in 1964 by students at Barrington High School. The Ascots had local hits with covers of the Beatles’ “You Can’t Do That” and Wilson Picket’s “In The Midnight Hour”.

Ted eventually moved to Los Angeles and teamed up with Peter Barnes and Michael Morgan to form the Movies. Michael had previously led a group named, Michael & The Messengers, who had also released a version of “In The Midnight Hour” on USA in 1966.
Ted Medbury (along with the Ascots) and Vini Poncia have both been inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall Of Fame. More about this organization at:
