Jonny Walker wins at Cowm!!
The sky was clear this weekend for the second round of the 2018 ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship but a cold east wind from Siberia blew across Cowm Leisure like a knife blade on the grinding wheel. At 12.30 the temperature of the competition began to rise as Jonny Walker joined Graham Jarvis, Paul Bolton and Billy Bolt on the start line of the two and half hour main race. Graham took the hole shot but Jonny Walker soon took the lead. Billy Bolt was looking to improve on his third place in Tong and from a poor start he carved his his way through the field to take 2nd and Paul Bolton was 3rd. Jonno Richardson was 4th, Sam Winterburn 5th, Jordan Scott 6th and Gethin Humphreys 7th. Joe Deakin in 8th was the best Expert. Sam Ludgate was runner up and Gav Houson 3rd. Age has not wearied Juan Knight as he battled with Wayne Braybrook in the Elite Vets class. The two riders pushed each other up the leader board with Juan finishing 9th overall - just over 1 minute ahead of Wayne. On the last lap Graham Jarvis pulled out with a fuel issue. Vet Mick Boam led the 2 hour morning race for Youths, Vets and Sportsmen until Youth rider Will Stansbie made a late move and he took the win. Mick was runner up and the young Isrealie rider Suff Sella was 3rd. Mark Houson in 4th was 2nd in the Vets class and Karl Greenall was 3rd. Tom Knight in 9th completed the Youth podium
