Meanwhile, Rohit and Kohli were set to return in the ODI series against Bangladesh in September, but the series was postponed by the BCCI and BCB in a mutual decision till next year. The veterans will now return to play for India in November when the Men in Blue tour Australia for a white ball series. India will only play a handful of ODIs before the World Cup, and it would be a big task for the greats to stay fit and in form to make a case for the showpiece event. Many believe that Kohli and Rohit are not automatic selections in the World Cup 2027 squad.
