Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Honda CR-V we're going to be installing Roadmaster's 12 Volt Outlet Kit, part number RM-9332.This 12 volt outlet kit is going to give you a quick interface to work with your typical automobile auxiliary connectors. You can hook it up however you'd like. You could have it so it's powered all the time regardless of your ignition switch position, or you could wire it up to one of your ignition switch positions, whether it be accessory or run position. Depending how you have it wired up, it can be used for a lot of different things. Currently, ours is wired up to be powered all the time, and we're using it in our flat tow setup to ensure that our braking system always has power and is operational.Now, there are some other things you may want to use it for. Let's say you've got a set of seat heaters that you installed in your vehicle, aftermarket seat heaters that run off these, and you want inaudible 00:00:51 seat heater make sure that it turns off when you shut your vehicle off so it doesn't drain your battery.

Well, you can wire your 12 volt outlet to your accessory or run position, and once you turn the vehicle off the outlet will lose power, ensuring that your heated seats don't stay on, draining your battery.You'll receive a bracket to mount your connector and there'll be five feet of wire to allow you to make that appropriate connection to your battery or any of your fuses. Once you've got it installed, you simply plug in your accessory and it's ready to go.We'll begin our installation on the driver side here on the lower left kick panel. We'll need to mount our 12 volt connection point in a convenient location. As we are going to be using this for our flat tow setup for our braking system, we want to keep it tucked out of the way where it's hidden out of sight but can still be easily accessed to plug in our braking system.We're going to be mounting ours just right here underneath our fuse panel kind of tucked up on the back. Take the wiring on your connector, slide it through your bracket making sure that the prong end faces towards your connector.

Going to route that up and verify that our connector slides into it. We can now mount this in the proper location. We're going to be putting it right about there. We'll attach that using the self-tapping screws that come in our kit. We'll then take our self-tapping screw; these are the larger two that come in the kit.

We're going to run them right into this panel here using a 10mm socket. That'll hold our connector in place.Here we've got a road map of what our fuses are located right here on the upper left of our lower left kick panel. You can get this right up underneath your dash here. Just take that off and get to it. We're going to be tapping into the center accessory socket fuse.

This one here shows it's a 15-amp fuse and it's located in this location. We'll now verify that fuse is there, and here it is here, and we want to make sure this fuse has power all the time. Key is currently in the off position, which means that it's going to have power all the time. So we'll now remove that fuse.Now the 15-amp fuse that we removed from our fuse box is one of the low-profile fuses which we cannot tap into. So we'll need to replace that with your regular 15-amp micro fuse. Now this fuse, once you've got it, we're going to need to slide on the tap terminal that comes in your kit. This will just slip over one of the legs and just press it down into place. It's kind of a tight fit, but that's a good thing because we want to make we've got a good connection. Make sure you've got it all the way seated.We'll now want to verify on our fuse box which side is the hot side. Only one of these terminals is going to have power, and the other one should not. So our bottom one here does have power. Our top one here does not. When we insert our fuse, we want to make sure we're putting that on the hot side, so the fuse tab is going towards the bottom since that is our hot side. Now it is going to be a little bit of a tight fit with that fuse tab on there, but it will go in.We'll now take the smaller self-tapping screw in our kit. We're going to put it through the ring terminal. This is our ground wire. We're going to attach that to this metal panel right here, so we'll use an 8mm socket. I'll just run that screw right into this metal pane
