The land of Naxals | A night stay in the village of Dantewada near Abujhmad

Описание к видео The land of Naxals | A night stay in the village of Dantewada near Abujhmad

During my Chhattisgarh trip, I got a chance to see Abujhmad, a place that is unknown to many and known as 'Den of Naxals'. The word Abujhmad means "the unknown hills" (Abujh means 'unknown' and mad means 'hill') in the Gondi language. Before my visit to Abujhmad, I stayed in the village of Dantewada which was just half a kilometre away from Abujhmad.
My experience at this place was totally different from what we use to hear from others. The people here are very welcoming and they treated me very nicely. Life here is very difficult and locals have to cross the Indravati river on daily basis to get things done and to sell their products at local haat for livelihood. See my experience at this place in this video.

* By mistake, I passed the wrong information in this video. At 6.25-6.28, I said the Indravati river meets the Mahanadi which is wrong. It meets the Godavari. Sincere apologies.*
