Ingredients :

Raw and sour mangoes : 2 kgs
Chilli powder : 250 grams
Sea salt : 400 to 500 grams
Mustard seeds : 200 grams
Fenugreek seeds : 3 tablespoons/35 grams
Sesame oil : 750ml
Peeled garlic cloves : 1/2 cup

This is the perfect recipe for authentic avakaya/mango pickle.

Follow these few tips to make perfect pickle.

Always use dry utensils in making avakaya...single drop of water may ruin your pickle,so keep this in mind.

You can add salt and chilli powder after 3 days as per taste.

Choose perfect green sour mangoes to make pickle.

Don’t use mangoes which are soft or any cuts on mangoes.
